Understanding the Stock One-Pager

Understanding the Stock One-Pager

A comprehensive, single-page research report for any publicly traded US company. Inspired by the Value Line Investment Survey, it combines financial data, valuation metrics, and historical trends in a dense, professional layout.

Stock Header

The header shows the company name, ticker, current price (end-of-day), and performance across multiple time periods (1D through 5Y). Direct links to investor relations and SEC EDGAR filings are included.

Valuation Chart

The main chart plots stock price versus fair value over time on a logarithmic scale. Four valuation methods are available via dropdown: P/E, P/FCF, P/CF, and P/OE (owner earnings). A relative strength line versus the S&P 500 shows how the stock has performed against the benchmark. See the chart guide for detailed interpretation.

Business Description

A brief overview of the company's business, products, and market position — sourced from SEC filings.

Financial Table

The table presents years of historical data organized into 8 sections: per share data (EPS, dividends, book value, cash flow), valuation metrics (P/E, P/B, P/S), profitability (gross, operating, net margins), returns on capital (ROE, ROA, ROIC), scale metrics (revenue, net income, FCF, shares), cash flow details (operating CF, capex, buybacks, dividends paid), balance sheet highlights, and price data.

Hover over any metric name for a tooltip explaining what it measures and how to interpret it.

Interactive Features

Each year column header links directly to the company's 10-K filing on SEC EDGAR — one click to the source document. The rightmost TTM column rolls up the last four quarters for the most current picture. All metric names have tooltips with explanations.

Segment Revenue

For companies that report business segments, a breakdown shows revenue by segment with growth trends — useful for understanding which parts of the business are driving results.

Quality Checklist

A 9-point checklist scores the company across profitability, growth, and balance sheet health. Each criterion is pass/fail with clear thresholds.

Free users see 2 years of financials. Pro unlocks 15 years, the quality checklist, segment revenue, and Excel export.
